Dartford's game at Wisbech was one of only three in the division to be completed because of the weather, although a heavy shower at half-time left the already sodden pitch with puddles of standing water. However the Darts more than weathered the storm as they leapfrogged over Wisbech and out of the bottom two. The home side had the benefit of a strong wind behind them in the first half and coupled with driving rain made defending difficult. Wisbech were fielding five new players following their seven-goal drubbing at Rothwell last week, including former Nottingham Forest player, Gary Childs. They took the lead after 17 minutes when following a neat passing move, Steve Dennis crashed a shot home from the edge of the area. However, the Darts defence stood firm for the remainder of the half and had several opportunities to equalise, the best of these being long range efforts from Ian Ross and Lee Jones which went narrowly wide. With the elements in their favour in the second half, Dartford took control of the game and after 53 minutes, Lee Guiver slipped past two defenders before firing just wide of an upright. The Darts task was made easier two minutes when Steve Walton kicked Glenn McTaggart right in front of the referee and he had no option but to send the home defender for an early bath. After 60 minutes, A header from Shane Holbrook was brilliantly tipped over the bar by Wisbech goalkeeper, Lee Brooks and from the resulting corner, Dave Scott's goalbound header was cleared off the line. The equaliser came after 69 minutes when Simon Roberts glanced home a header from a Ross cross. Almost immediately, Steve Williams had to make a fine save from Matthew Stinson to keep the sides level On 72 minutes, Luke Morrish sealed victory for the Darts when he arrived late at the back post to finish off a free kick from Ross. Dartford: Williams, McTaggart, Evans, Scott, L. Morrish, Roberts, Guiver, Ross, Arnold, Jones and Holbrook (Pointer 85 mins). Subs not used: Cole and Nicholson. Attendance 300
