Dartford were defeated by their Kent rivals Tonbridge in front of their highest league crowd of the season on Saturday. Dartford had the first chances to open the scoring but Mark Greatorex saw his 11th minute shot blocked by Joe Radford and the Tonbridge goalkeeper was first to react to the loose ball and turned it away for a corner.

A minute later, Radford fumbled a shot from Lee Jones but the end result was just another corner. After 31 minutes, the visitors should have taken the lead but Tom Adlington made a great clearance to kick the ball off the line following a shot from Paul Bates. Five minutes into the second half, Steve Williams dropped an innocuous cross but a surprised Wade Falana headed wide with an open goal at his mercy.

But after 67 minutes, Falana did find the net. Williams managed to parry a shot from Graham Robertson and Tonbridge's leading goalscorer was on hand to scramble the ball home from close range. Despite two late efforts from Greatorex being blocked, the Darts could not find the elusive equaliser.

Dartford: Williams, Adlington, Evans, Scott, Morrish, Roberts, Greatorex, Ross (Holbrook 75 mins), Arnold, Jones and McTaggart Subs not used: Pointer and Cole. Attendance 301
