Dartford suffered their biggest league defeat of the season when they were crushed 4 - 0 by Stamford.

The visitors took full advantage of a strong wind behind them in the first half and took the lead in the 8th minute. Warren Donald looped a cross in from the right which Steve Williams failed to deal with and Malcolm Ndekwe headed home from ten yards.

After 12 minutes, the Darts thought they had equalised. A shot from Ian Ross was blocked by the visitor's defence and although Chris Arnold shot home, he was adjudged to be offside. Two minutes later, Stamford went further ahead when Williams spilled a free kick from David Staff and Nick Ashby netted from close range.

Six minutes before half time, Stamford added a third when Tom Betteridge fired into the roof of the net following a flowing move down the left wing. Things got worse for Dartford just three minutes into the second half. Ndekwe broke down the left wing and shrugged off two challenges before rounding Williams and crossing for Betteridge to score from close range.

Although there was no chance of the Darts getting back into the game, visiting goalkeeper, Steve Corry, made fine saves from Arnold, Shane Holbrook and Simon Roberts.

Dartford: Williams, Adlington, Evans, Scott (Guiver 62 mins), Morrish, Ross (Roberts 70 mins), Morgan, Godden (McTaggart 62 mins), Arnold, Jones and Holbrook.

Attendance 168.
