Dartford came within
6 minutes of their 4th win on the spin, at Histon on Saturday afternoon,
but were denied the full three points, on what was a very boggy pitch.
Dartford took the lead on 17 minutes when Mark Greatorex's well placed
cross was contested in the penalty area by Shane Holbrook. As Holbrook
rose in the area, Andrew Mee managed to deflect the ball into the path
of fellow defender Adrian Cambridge, whose header beat his own keeper.
Histon, then made two tactical substitutions in the space of 15 minutes
and began to come into the game, being denied twice by Steve Williams
in the last 10 minutes of the second half.
The second half was more of a lottery as the condition of the pitch
deteriorated with both sides having a few chances, Dartford's best being
when Greatorex found room down the right hand side and drilled a shot
in, only for Gary Dean in goal to parry his shot away, and the following
