Fresh off of their defeat at Tonbridge in the Doc Martens League, Dartford had a Dr Martens Cup match on Wednesday night against Dr Martens Premier League leaders, Crawley Town.

After only five minutes, Chris Arnold beat a Crawley defender before firing a low shot which Andy Little in the visitors' goal did well to save. At the other end, his counterpart Steve Williams blocked an effort from Matt Woolf after a good through ball by Curtis Johnson and Danny Evans was on hand to clear the loose ball to safety.

After 26 minutes, a Nick Barnes corner was headed on by Glenn McTaggart, making his full first team debut, but unfortunately for the Darts, no one was on hand at the back post to finish the move off.

On 39 minutes, Crawley scored what turned out to be the only goal of the game when Frances Vines headed home from twelve yards out following a cross from Scott Mean. Dartford could have drawn level before half time when Dave Scott played a ball through to Arnold b
