Dartford could only manage a draw in Saturday's First Qualifying Round of the F.A. Cup and must replay at Chertsey on Tuesday night. In an evenly contested game, both sides created plenty of scoring chances but a draw was the fairest result for both sides.

The Surrey side had the first opportunity to score after five minutes when Sean Marshall shot over the bar from ten yards out when unmarked at the back post. Two minutes later, Shane Holbrook was unfortunate not to score for Dartford when he headed against a post following a corner from the left.

Chertsey produced a neat move after 25 minutes when Marlon Stewart and Marshall combined well before Stewart fired a low shot at Steve Williams, which the Darts goalkeeper did well to save. Four minutes later the visitor's did in fact take the lead when Stewart broke down the right before crossing for Marshall to shoot home from ten yards out.

Dartford's equaliser came two minutes before half time. Following a short free kick from Nick Barnes, Lee Guiver drove a shot from the edge of the penalty area into the net via the crossbar.
