Dartford suffered their second successive away defeat on Saturday when they lost at Bashley.

The game was in doubt on Friday night and although the pitch looked good from a distance, it was extremely wet and soft underfoot and was only just playable.

The Darts got off to the worst possible start when they conceded a goal after just three minutes. Veteran striker, David Puckett, stole in at the near post to turn in a cross from Jimmy Anderson from close range.

This early breakthrough seemed to unsettle Dartford and Graeme Gee had a shot that went narrowly wide and Steve Williams smothered a shot from Stuart Cooper.

The Darts gradually got themselves back into the game and were unlucky not to equalise after 29 minutes when Chris Arnold met a cross from Ian Ross but his glancing header was saved by Ollie Rastall in the home goal.

However, seven minutes later, the Darts went further behind when following a cross from Craig Davis, Puckett headed his second goal of the game.
