Dartford recorded their second consecutive win on Saturday when they beat Banbury 1 - 0, despite playing with only ten men for over half of the match. The first half produced few chances but the odds went against the Darts when Tom Adlington was sent off after 39 minutes. The Dartford defender had already been shown a yellow card earlier in the game and was given a second following a foul on Matthew Gooderick. However, Banbury failed to seize the initiative even though they had the extra player and Dartford continued to dominate. After 52 minutes, Mike Morgan beat a defender before shooting into the side netting. Nine minutes later, the Darts deservedly took the lead. Substitute Glenn McTaggart saw his shot blocked by the Banbury defence but the loose ball fell to Roy Godden who lashed the ball home from ten yards for his third goal in as many games. Lee Guiver could have added a second goal after 70 minutes but he fired just wide following an inch perfect pass from Ian Ross. Steve Williams in the Dartford goal had a relatively easy afternoon |
