Dartford gained an extremely valuable away point on Tuesday night when they faced second placed Baldock Town. The first half was a cat-and-mouse affair, with only 2 real opportunities for either side.

Dartford had the first chance when on four minutes, Mike Morgan's useful cross was flicked away from the goalmouth area by Rob Smith. On 41 minutes, former Dart Paul McCarthy shot just over from 25 yards with a right footed volley.

The second half was a more entertaining affiar, and Baldock should have scored when Steve Williams spilled a shot, and could only clear it to the right hand side, where McCarthy crossed the ball back in, and Barry Dellar spooned the ball high, and wide over the goal. On 56 minutes, Roy Godden headed a poor clearance into the path of Chris Arnold, but the wet surface allowed the ball to skip on back to Adam Wheeler in the Baldock goal.

Dartford made a double substitution on 75 minutes, and it almost paid dividends 10 minutes later, when Glenn McTaggart ran onto a telling ball from Tom Adlington.McTaggart tried to flick the ball over the goalkeeper, but it bounced up awkwardly and into Wheeler's arms.
